COVID-19 has been a hassle and has trapped us inside our homes. However, the vaccine is just one step closer to getting us all outside of our homes and into the sunny, breezy days of summer break. The vaccine helps everyone living on this planet! In the United States, you can only get the vaccine if you’re 12 or older, so most of you reading might not qualify. Instead, you can encourage your parents and older siblings to get the vaccine. The vaccine is just putting a little bit of medicine and COVID-19 into your body. Your immune system then saves the memory, so that you can fight it off easily if you ever encounter COVID-19 later on.

Even if you (or family members) get the vaccine, and can soon start to have oodles of fun with your friends, there are still many topics available for you to read about in the good ol’ newspaper. Reading the newspaper and staying informed is as important as eating your vegetables!

While you wait for your turn for the vaccine, browse through the various sections of our captivating paper. Let's give a round of applause to Ira, Ruhan, and Om for amusing us with jokes/riddles and fun articles while we eat our potato chips, slowly turning into couch potatoes.  Check out Sameer and Advika’s pieces where they write about epic games like minecraft, and contemplative intellectual exercises such as chess.  You can’t miss Nikita and Mihika’s interviews. With all the art museums shut down, take a look at the art section, where Caitlin, Libelle, Anandi, and Simrah draw out some fine pieces of magnificent art. Be sure to check out everybody else’s amazing work!

We couldn’t have made this paper without our Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (which translates to amazing!) teachers Mrs. Riva and Mr. Ontiveros. Every other Wednesday, we had Zooms with Mrs. Riva. She helped us organize and research fun, interesting topics and come up with article ideas. Also, a big thank you to Mihika and Sameer, who helped make the stupendous website alongside Mrs. Riva, which you’re reading from today. Mr. Ontiveros made our news a delight to read. With all his super-cool, breathtaking editing and writing skills, he improved our writing, which we learn from everyday.

Thank you to all of the teachers for teaching students in these rough times,  and for never giving up. Also a big thank you to all of the students for being very cooperative during these odd times. We are very grateful to all of the clubs, such as the book club hosted by Mrs. Hawks, and the newspaper team ran by Mrs. Riva and Mr. Ontiveros. We couldn’t have done it without you guys!

Lastly, a very special shout out to our principal and all the staff at Weibel. Go Wildcats!
