...continued My favorite tennis player

Nadal is my favorite player not just because he is a champion but also because he's so kind and even with a few losses he doesn't make a big fat fit about it. He just keeps on playing and he tries to get better every single match. He still is a very competitive player and tries his best.

Getting to any Grand slam tournament to even compete in the first round is really hard. In 2020 Rafa just caught up to Roger Federer, also one of my favorite tennis players. He has now won 20 grand slam titles just like Federer.

being portable like an iPhone garnering the attention of many potential Nintendo fans, and soon the Nintendo Switch was a worldwide sensation.

One would think that after 3 years, the Switch has lost its fire, but that’s where he/she would be wrong. The Switch is still nothing less than a sensation, and is out of stock everywhere, much like the PS5. The Nintendo Switch has plenty of amazing features which are as below and which is why the Switch is still in demand.

  1. Play Anywhere: The Nintendo Switch allows the player to play anywhere, at any time, as long as it is charged.

  2. Many ways to play: Where do I even start with this one? There are numerous controllers to play on like, 1 joy con, 2 joycons, Pro Controller, handheld, multiplayer, etc.

  3. What the previous consoles should have been: Let’s be honest, all of Nintendo’s creations like The Wii U, the DS, the Gamecube, etc. are not up to match with this console.

  4. Motion Controls: I will not lie, this was a hated thing at first, but now people have gotten used to it and appreciate it.

  5. Storage Space easy to upgrade: The Switch started with 32 GB, and most people would think that that is not very much. That is why the Switch allows players to buy more storage space and attach it so that it can upgrade to 64 or 128 GB.

  6. Cartridges are back: When the original Wii U came out, the discs were very big and people had to carry it with them. Now, cartridges are so small that they can fit in the switch case and there are special antigravity pockets in the case for cartridges.

  7. Epic games on the go: Finally, Nintendo has improved the quality and story mode of games so that players can enjoy them.

  8. Youtube: Youtube and Netflix can be downloaded on the Switch! So believe it or not, “Among Us” can be downloaded just like the “Hello Neighbor” game.

I personally have a Switch and boy, is it a lot of fun. If you were like me and had a Switch, you would play on it to pass the time on road trips, airplanes, and even at home on the big screen. My games on the Switch are: Fortnite, Legends of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Harry Potter, and Just Dance 2021 (don’t judge me on the lack of games, I only had it for 2 months)  The Nintendo Switch is definitely worth buying, and I hope that Nintendo produces more consoles like this.

...continued Super Bowl

follows: At the end of each quarter, a touchdown must be scored. There is one team against another. At the end of the four quarters, the team with the most points win. A man named Walter Camp created this fun game. The first game took place in New Brunswick. The game was made, believe it or not, on November 6, 1869. Yes, about 200 years ago, football was invented. That’s enough talk about football’s history. Now, let’s talk about the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl is a National Football League championship game played between American Football Conference and National Football Conference winners in the month of January or February every year. The first Super Bowl game was played at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on January 15, 1969. It was a completely sold-out game where the Green Bay Packers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs with a score of 35-10.

Like I said before, more than 5 million people watch the Super Bowl on average. Check this out if that sounded crazy: A Super Bowl ticket costs more than 5,000 dollars and a 30-second advertisement costs more than 5 million dollars! Now back then is a different story. In the 1900s a ticket only cost from $6-10, and a 30-second advertisement cost only $42,000. Today the same ad costs over 5 million dollars! Did you also know that the Super Bowl is said in Roman numerals? For example, the first Super Bowl was Super Bowl I. In Roman numerals that means 1. Another example is this Super Bowl was Super Bowl LIV. LIV means 54 in English numerals. Bet you didn’t know that (unless you did)! Every Super Bowl has halftime where celebrities like Katy Perry and Michael Jackson have performed. Another interesting fact about the Super Bowl is that, next to Thanksgiving, it is the biggest event in which people consume food. So get ready for next year with your pizza and soda! Additionally, there’s some great news: In 2022, the Super Bowl LVI will take place in our Golden State, California, at the SoFi stadium, which is about a 20-minute drive from Los Angeles. Get your tickets now before they sell out!

...continued Big Sporting Events in the

    time of a Pandemic

In the Super Bowl 2021 it was very different from the other years because of the pandemic. As you might already know, the Super Bowl is one of the most hyped up and biggest sporting events of the year. It is a National Football League championship game. Many things were different this year in terms of watching the Superbowl. There were significantly less people spectating the match. There was also this strange idea where you could pay around $100 to have a cardboard cut out on one of the seats so that you could see yourself (kind of) watching the Super Bowl. Super Bowl is also a highly social event where lots of families meet to party and eat snacks and watch the game. With a pandemic, that did not happen.

Some of the positives of watching these big sporting events at home was that we could limit the spread of covid-19. This way we would be out of the pandemic sooner and get back to normal life. The biggest negatives were people not having the opportunity to watch these fun events live with their family and friends. Also when people don’t attend these events, the organizers do not get the money from tickets which can put their business in jeopardy. Even if people go to the stadium, they are stuck with masks and distancing and they wouldn't enjoy it as much, in my opinion.

As for my family, we enjoyed these events from the safety of our home. We also tried to make it fun by making special snacks and planning our evenings around our favorite matches. We additionally talked about plans for next year and what friends we would like to invite over to our home for a fun Super Bowl party.

We all know that this year has been rough, but if we work together, we will always find a way out of it. We need to continue to social distance, wear masks, and not visit crowded places, travel much or go to other people’s homes until it is safe to do so. Next year is going to be a fresh start! Soon enough we will be out of the pandemic and enjoying our favorite sporting events with family & friends in a huge and loud stadium full of people.
