Lights

 by Sejal Bansal (2nd Grade)

In my room, there are lights

The light string is stuck tight

With animals hanging like knights

On a string of white

They light in the night

They are a pretty sight

They look bright

The owls says night is might

The family of raccoons gripe

The chickens don’t fight

Seeing the string is such a delight

It comforts me to sleep tight

Covid, Covid Go Away

Covid, covid go away

Little Yuvi wants to play.

I miss the park I miss my friends

When will this pandemic end?

Covid, covid go away

Little Yuvi wants to play.

Together

 by Prithviraj Singh (3rd Grade)

Today we are quarantined

This is a very difficult time

Covid 19 can’t take us down

Covid 19 can’t break us down

We are all in this together

This is how we can stay stronger

We rise by lifting each other

No matter what happens be nice to others

This time will not last forever

We will get through this together

Never lose hope the end is in sight

If we stay together, we will win this fight

Covid Vs Zoom: A super app's rescue of humankind

by Amruth Settipalli (3rd Grade)

Covid had enough of being trapped in a cell. For centuries, the ripped and shabby black sheet of cloth he wore released two ghost-like dainty arms, but who said he wasn't strong. His bony hands clasped around the sable metal bars. The cell is dark and silent but tonight, those shredded bars hit the ground with a big clang. With a single step and a tap of his boot Covid stepped out of the cell...

Covid had a perfect revenge plan for what the human antibodies had done to him. ”I shall stop humans from ever meeting again!” He let out an oily chuckle. He clasped his hands together, and slowly rubbed them together until...faint blue and green smog peeked out. Covid opened his hands to reveal a small model of the earth made of colored smoke and electricity. He clasped his hands once again on to the copy of the planet.

There was a death defying screech and a heavy gust of wind. When the antibody guards came to see what happened, all that remained of Covid’s escape was the broken bars clanging around the inside of the cell and the soft electricity crackling around it.

When Covid reached Earth, he was no longer a shabby ghost-like creature. He had evolved into a microscopic organism. “I cannot execute my plan,” he thought, “If I am a single dot on a grain of sand". So he used his supernatural powers to clone himself exponentially. Seconds later, the world was swarming with googols of Covid clones attaching to the human antibodies throughout the world.

Covid enjoyed how the whole world was talking about his clones and their work. They called it “coronavirus”, but people were just going about their normal ways. He decided to seize the opportunity. “I will spawn even more malignant beings,“ he proclaimed. Soon people everywhere were afraid of this new virus. Just like how Covid wanted, shops, buildings, schools, businesses, theme parks, and almost everything that you could imagine were shut down. Covid started enjoying how his plan was shaping up and hoped that all the humans and their antibodies will now get their punishment.

However, humans are a lot stronger than Covid thought. They quickly rose to the challenge. They created two armies to fight Covid and his evil clones. One small army of doctors and scientists worked tirelessly to stop Covid through a vaccine. A large army of kids, parents and grandparents decided that they won’t let Covid enjoy his temporary victory in the battle. They were determined to win the war even though they lost the battle. They created a big magical bridge between the physical and digital world that couldn’t be destroyed and expanded automatically to accommodate many people at once. ZOOM.

In a few days, humans downloaded Zoom on every device. A white figure emerged and cracked out of the bottom of every desktop. It was a 3D white video cam shape with black beady eyes and a blue suit and a black bow tie. Humans began crossing into the physical world right from the safety of their home through Zoom. Because of social distance, the clones of Covid started dying down. Covid realized that his clones were losing. They weren’t able to spread and clone as quickly anymore. “I shall stop this ZOOM”, said Covid.

He started his plan to sneak into the electric wires and destroy this magical bridge called Zoom. Will he succeed in destroying this magical bridge? Will humans overcome Covid and send him back into his dark cell where he can’t clone anymore? (to be continued...)
